When a registered subscriber purchases any new AKASH Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) from authorized Dealer, s/he will automatically receive a repair and replacement warranty for the 1st year from the date of activation of AKASH services. Registered subscriber will further get maintenance services for the 2nd year in relation to CPE from the date of activation of AKASH. However, registered subscriber would be responsible to pay for any equipment or accessories and any other charges outside the scope of maintenance. For the sake of clarity, CPE shall mean components and accessories to enable reception of AKASH services, which shall include dish antenna; low noise block feed horn and Set Top Box.

A person can buy a maximum of 3 products with a single registered mobile number (RMN).

You'll have to bring only 1 passport size color photograph & original or photocopy of your NID or Passport.

After purchase, within 72 hours our professional AKASH installers will come to your installation address to complete installation so that you can start enjoying the magical AKASH experience. It takes 2 hours on average to complete the installation.

The dish should be installed where there is the clearest line of sight; usually, it is on the rooftop/parapet of terrace.

You should manage the consent of your landlord/apartment committee for the dish installation and cable routing at the premise before the purchase.

You should contact our helpline if you need any sort of supports; our helpline is active 24/7! Our professional AKASH installers will be there for you, at the time mutually agreed between you and us, to do reinstallations, relocations, commissioning, decommissioning, component replacements, servicing etc. if needed. However, you will have to pay a certain charge depending on the required type of service. We do recommend you contact us in case of such requirements because if these are done by unauthorized parties, your warranty will be void.

There are 130+ channels in AKASH Standard package among which 70+ are in HD resolution. 

The monthly subscription fee for AKASH Standard for a single connection is BDT 400. 

AKASH Standard package provides the maximum number of both HD and SD channels. All new channel addition to AKASH Digital TV service is immediately viewable for Standard pack customers.    

No, there is no special or discounted fee for the mentioned subscriber group/s. The monthly subscription fee for a single connection for all subscribers is BDT 400. 

The subscription eligibility to AKASH Standard package is not dependent on the STB the subscribers have. All eligible subscribers of both AKASH Regular & AKASH Basic STBs can subscribe to AKASH Standard package. 

Yes, subscribers of AKASH Standard Package are eligible for multi-TV facility. 

Under Multi TV connection facility, the 2nd connection being AKASH Standard will cost BDT 300 monthly and the 3rd connection being AKASH Standard will cost BDT 200 monthly. 

In Multi TV pricing, the higher priced packages will be counted as earlier subscriptions, e.g. If a customer takes a Lite, Standard and Lite Plus package in that order, the first connection will be counted as Standard, the second shall be counted as Lite Plus and the third shall be Lite. 

Yes, it is allowed. Subscribers can downgrade from AKASH Standard to AKASH Lite Plus/AKASH Lite pack at the end of their current subscription period. Downgrade can be done by simply logging into customer Self-Care account or calling 16442. 

Yes, it is allowed. Subscribers can submit a request to upgrade from AKASH Lite Plus/AKASH Lite package to AKASH Standard anytime. Upgradation can be done by simply logging into the customer Self-Care account or calling 16442.  

Yes, AKASH Standard pack subscribers will get 1 & 3 month free subscriptions if they recharge for 6 & 12 months at once respectively. 

There are 100 channels in AKASH Lite Plus package among which 50+ are in HD resolution.

There are 75 channels in AKASH Lite Package and the subscription fee is BDT 300 monthly and there are 100 channels in AKASH Lite Plus package with a monthly subscription fee of BDT 350.

The monthly subscription fee for AKASH Lite Plus for a single connection is BDT 350.

There is no free subscription period in any AKASH package.

You can down-grade to AKASH Lite after your subscription validity has expired. Please call our call center for this operation; you can call anytime, our agents will schedule a future downgradation request on behalf of you in the system at the time of your validity expiry of AKASH Standard for your convenience. You can also migrate through the self-care facility in our website.

You can migrate to Akash Lite from AKASH Standard after the validity of your 6/12 month subscription ends. You can call our call center at 16442 or migrate through the self-care facility in our website.

You can immediately upgrade your packages. You don't need to wait for your billing cycle to be over. Please call our call center at 16442 as the upgradation/migration procedure will be executed through call center. You can also migrate through the self-care facility in our website.

No, existing AKASH Subscribers, migrating to packages will not get any additional free subscription period.

You can choose AKASH Lite at the time of new connection purchase. Just inform your retailer about your choice.

AKASH BASIC Set Top Boxes (STBs) have the word "BASIC" written under AKASH Logo on the bottom right of the front side of AKASH BASIC STB. You can differentiate/identify the STB accordingly. Moreover, the package (inside which the STB, remote etc. comes) has also "AKASH BASIC" written clearly on it; the package is also a different color from other AKASH STB packages.

AKASH DTH has launched AKASH BASIC STB to provide more affordability & value for money to all AKASH DTH enthusiasts & aspirants. AKASH BASIC STB is a Set Top Box at an affordable price of BDT 2,999. The total one time initial connection cost with this AKASH BASIC STB is BDT 4,499 (Dish antenna, Single LNB, 10 meter cable, connectors along with AKASH BASIC STB).

The model numbers of AKASH BASIC STB can be any of the below:-

You will get AKASH BASIC STB, Remote Control Unit (RCU), HDMI cable & power adapter inside the gift box. Also, user manual & warranty card will be inside the gift box.

The "Back" button is on top of the "Guide" button and in the middle of the channel+/- & volume +/- buttons. The button has a pictorial of "Back/Return" printed on it.

The "Favorites" button is on top of the "Exit" button and the button has "FAV" written on it.

The "AKASH Mail" button is on top of the "Menu" button and the button has "Mail" written on it.

The "Media" button does not have any functionality for AKASH BASIC STB. If pressed, it will not execute any command in this STB.

The "REC" button does not have any functionality for AKASH BASIC STB. If pressed, it will not execute any command in this STB.

AKASH BASIC STB does not have Personal Video Recording (PVR) features which includes instant recording, schedule recording & live TV pause. Apart from PVR features, all other major features of other AKASH STBs are also present in AKASH BASIC STB.

As this STB does not have PVR (Personal Video Recording) features, inserting USB storage devices through this port will not be functional for the customer. When customers insert their USB devices into the STB, they will not be able to access files in the USB device or will not be able to store any new files from the STB through recording of contents. However, the USB port maybe used by AKASH installers/after sales providers for servicing purpose.

AKASH BASIC STB does not have Personal Video Recording (PVR) features which includes instant recording, schedule recording & live TV pause. That is why the menu does not have "Recording" option. Apart from PVR features, all other major features of other AKASH STBs are also present in AKASH BASIC STB.

In AKASH BASIC STB, customers will be able to select their default volume and this default volume will only be applicable when STB is turned on from standby; in other cases, subscriber’s last selected volume will be applicable. For instance, if default volume is 15 then every time STB wakes up from standby, the volume will be 15. However, when subscriber is watching a channel and for instance if he changes the volume to 12, when he zaps to another channel, the volume will also be 12, which is his last selected volume.

The price of only AKASH BASIC STB is BDT 2999.

The price of full connection with AKASH BASIC STB is BDT 4,499. (Dish antenna, Single LNB, 10 meter cable, connectors along with AKASH BASIC STB).

No. All components except the STB will have the same existing market prices. (Dish BDT 1,050, Single LNB BDT 200, 10 meter cable BDT 200, connectors BDT 50)

No, you cannot buy only AKASH BASIC STB in EMI.

The cost of AKASH BASIC STB will remain same BDT 2,999. For additional accessories, subscriber has to pay accordingly.

No. The price of all the packages will remain same regardless of the STB subscribers use.

The warranty policy will be same as other AKASH STBs. Yes AKASH has genre wise channel distribution in its menu. When you click "Program Guide" from AKASH menu, you will see the genre list. (i.e.: Entertainment, sports, Bangladeshi channels etc.). After you select a genre, you will see detail program guide of the channels of that genre.

To provide more convenience to subscribers, this feature has been introduced. From the "Channel Arrangement" option, you can select alphabetical or numerical sorting option for channels. For instance, if you select "0 to 9", when you go to all channel list or program guide, all your channels will be listed in order of their LCN number. Alternatively, the channels can also be arranged according to their alphabetical order. You just need to select the appropriate option from "Channel Arrangement" and then save the setting by clicking the green button.

The error codes provides specific circumstance based service reasoning and action points. In some error codes, you will see relevant pictorials which have been designed to offer a better customer understanding for that specific error code.

You can manage your AKASH subscription related tasks from the app. Such as Recharge, billing plan, subscription details, package upgradation, program guide, referral and many more by yourself. You can contact via live chat or call center if you see discrepancy in information. 

You can’t see live tv from the app. You can find channel program list in future.

If you are an AKASH subscriber with a valid SUB ID (8 digits) and active Registered Mobile Number (11 digits) then you can sign-in from App after successful app installation. 

You need to set a 6-digit PIN after the OTP verification done with that RMN at the time of Sign-up. This PIN will be used for further sign-in and execution as and when required.

Yes, for every subscriber ID you'll need to register separately, even if the mobile number is same for the accounts.

Please immediately call our call center at 16442 to update your account info.

To register, please click on the 'Selfcare' button on top right corner of the AKASH website. Click the 'Sign Up to Log in' Button in the new window. After that type your 'Subscriber ID' and 'Registered Mobile Number' and check the tick box confirming agreement terms , then click on the 'Submit' button. Now type the OTP (One Time Password) which was sent to your 'Registered Mobile Number' and Set your password and confirm it. Click the 'Register' button after finishing. A message will appear confirming successful registration. You'll now be able to sign in by providing your Sub ID and Password.

You'll only need your subscriber ID and RMN to register in Self care

If it shows that the mobile number does not match, please call our call center at 16442 to update your mobile number.

 Please click on the 'Selfcare' button on top right corner of the AKASH website. Click on the 'Click Here' text beside the 'Forgot Password'.After that type your 'Subscriber ID' and 'Registered Mobile Number', then click on the 'Submit' button. Now type the OTP (One Time Password) which was sent to your 'Registered Mobile Number' and Set your password and confirm it. Click the 'Save Password' button after finishing. You'll now be able to sign in with your new password.

When setting up a password for Selfcare, your password must be between 8 - 30 characters containing a capital letter, a small letter and a number. You also can not set your previous Selfcare password as your new password.

Even if you have Multi-TV connection, you only have one “Subscriber ID”. If you register with that subscriber id, you’ll find information regarding all your connections.

OTP validation will be disabled for 5 minutes after three (3) consecutive wrong OTP or not inputting the OTP

You can upgrade from your AKASH Lite to AKASH Standard package by simply logging into your Self-Care account. Then go to the “Subscription Details” Tab and press “View Details” on the connection you want to upgrade. Click on the "Change Package" button and then select AKASH Standard from the options and simply Press the “Apply” Button to proceed. An OTP will be sent to your Registered Mobile Number (RMN) which you need to enter to successfully upgrade from AKASH Lite to AKASH Standard Package. You must have sufficient balance in your AKASH wallet.

The package will be upgraded instantly after you confirm it from Selfcare. Your subscription status (Active/Inactive) will not affect the execution. You must have sufficient balance for the upgrade,

You will get the validity same as the number of days you had left in your previous AKASH Lite package. After the expiry date, your package will be renewed according to your biling cycle.

You can downgrade from your AKASH Standard to AKASH Lite package by simply logging into your Self-Care account. Then go to the “Subscription Details” Tab and press “View Details” on the connection you want to downgrade. Click on the "Change Package" button and then select AKASH Lite from the options and simply Press the “Apply” Button to proceed. In active status, you downgrade request will be scheduled and only executed after the expiration date of current billing cycle if enough balance is found. In inactive status, it will be scheduled and executed instantly if enough balance is found.

You can change your payment cycle by simply logging into your Self-Care account. Then go to the “Subscription Details” Tab and press “View Details” on the connection you want to change. Click on the "Change Billing Cycle" button and then select your desired billing cycle from the options and simply Press the “Apply” Button to proceed. An OTP will be sent to your Registered Mobile Number (RMN) which you need to enter to successfully change your billing cycle. Your scheduled billing cycle will automatically take effect after the expiration of current billing cycle if enough balance is found,

Yes, you will be able avail these offers by chnaging your billing cycle in Selfcare.

In active status, your billing cycle change request will be scheduled and will automatically take effect after the expiration of current billing cycle if enough balance is found, In inactive status, it will be scheduled and executed instantly if enough balance is found.

No, once you set up a schedule, you will not be able to cancel it through Selfcare. You will need to contact our call center for that purpose.

If you have multi TV connection and want to change billing cycle, you must perform this task in connection 1 (Main Subscription)

You can update your email address by simply logging into your Self-Care account. Then go to the “Account Information” Tab and press “Update Email” beside the Email information.Input your preferred email address and click next. An OTP will be sent to the email address that you just provided which you need to enter to successfully update your email address.
